Nosco Norms and bodies in schools

.

Capucine Estier

Standardized school furniture does not adapt to pupils’ growth or to their morphology. Determined to help them recapture the classroom space thanks to their bodies, I offered them the chance to redesign their chairs. In addition to the existing furniture, Nosco is composed of accessories which change the comfort and the type of school seats so that each child can be an active listener, keep a sustained attention and support his/her posture to improve the quality of his /her work.
Besides, it is a real tool for teachers since it allows for skills of the programmes linked to the representation of the body in the environment and the relationships with others to be developed.
Nosco gives the school community the tools needed to find a way around standards which disappears for the benefit of improved furniture, that is modified, redesigned and unique.
