Design and techno-centered innovation

Emma TALEC. Diploma project. DSAAD Product design. 2020

In the field of research and development, the innovation process very rarely includes users. Designers, therefore, have a role to play in the integration of users in the R&D field. This research framework led me to develop a research partnership with the Saint-Gobain Compiègne Research & Development center. The development phase of the project is subject to confidentiality.

My project concerns an opacifying and illuminating active glazing technology. The objective is to question the use of this technology in the context of a glass roof in an automobile. My research aims to develop a system that meets the needs of users while driving.
For this, I have set up research protocols and interviewed professionals. I also developed a design methodology to place users at the heart of the thinking process, while building mediation tools with the R&D teams.
