Reveal in the physical space, the intangible data during a traveling experience, at the Lyon-Perrache’s Centre d’Echanges.
« Le numérique existe au niveau de l’information, il existe au niveau des personnes et il rentre au niveau de l’espace » Eric Cassar, Urban Architect from Arkhenspaces.
Made from algorithms, not easily understandable, datas are still too little shared openly, freely, within the reach of all. Yet, we see a huge potential when datas are made available, in a context of city services.
Data Ways is a project that spatially reveals datas at the heart of the Lyon-Perrache’s centre d’échanges. Clogged by its construction work, the station’s traffic is modified, the ambient air gets filled with dust and the noise invading the spaces. How to transform these real-time downsides for the user into a positive, communicative and informational experience?
Each ways reveal the intangible. The architectural elements (the walls, the floor, etc.) welcome with lights and colors the possibilities of paths suggested to the user. Thanks to augmented reality technologies, we wander in the station, from a given starting point to a final one: the different datas encourage the user to shift towards his destination, suggesting less polluted, calmer, clearer paths.
