Nowadays, the field of creative jobs is confronted to the loss of some handicrafts and skills. However, some craftspeople try to include new technologies in their work. I met two leather craftswomen and I saw how much they want to attempt to preserve manual heritage; yet, they alos want to save some time by using new technologies.
“Au fil du temps” project was born in this context. My project focuses on the creation and production of textile, associated to graphic and digital design. It is meant to put innovation at the heart of the textile production process, in collaboration with craftspeople.
It questions the value of textile creation, and gives new meaning to production: weaving and generating patterns with real-time data.
