Fashion and Textile Design students expose their editorial research at the Saint-Etienne International Design Biennial. The project “Regards croisés” with Isabelle Moulin from Silk me back and photographer Florent Tanet, will be located in the Library space of the Stefania exhibition in building H.

Based on the materials reported by the Silk Me Back during his two exploratory missions to Dahua 35 in Xi’An, China, the students were invited to remotely visit this place, offering through their eyes a dissonant narrative second layer to evoke this distant site. Change your point of view, search angle, focus to look differently, identify common inspirations but also get rid of mirror images, sometimes inverted often fantasized by our two cultures. These editorial objects are to be consulted in an intermediary library as mental cartographies, roadmaps, possible routes, “indicators” of textile and industrial paths between France and China.

Opening on 20/03 at 18h at the City of Design in Saint-Etienne. Exhibition from 21/03 to 22/04 2019.
